Back by popular demand, the Parent Education Pep Talks

Excellent String Instrument Music Lessons

Originating in the early months of remote teaching and learning in May 2020, the Parent Education Pep Talks Series opened a new window of opportunity for parents to glean wisdom directly from Suzuki educators.

Gifted Music School Suzuki Program Director, Stacy Smith, commented in an earlier article, "Being a Suzuki parent is often a lonely endeavor. It’s you and your child and the instrument in the practice room, and it can be easy to wonder if you’re the only one whose child resists practicing, spends more time flopped on the floor than making music, or who wonders on a weekly basis if music lessons are actually working for your family. Seeing a familiar face, hearing an encouraging word, and knowing that you’re not alone on this musical journey can make all the difference."

"Matchmaker Matchmaker Make Me A Match"
with GMS faculty, Kelly McConkie Stewart

Finding the right fit between teacher and student is arguably the most important decision you'll make as you embark on music lessons.  This session will help you determine what things are important as you look for a teacher (at any point in your current and future journey) and make the important connection between mentor and student.  We will discuss what things music teachers are looking for in potential families as they put together studios.  Join us as we talk about music match-making.
