Double Bass Lessons in Salt Lake City

The double bass is the heartbeat of any orchestra, providing depth, rhythm, and a rich foundation to music from Beethoven to Mahler. At Gifted Music School, our double bass program offers students the opportunity to build strong technique, artistry, and confidence. Through personalized private lessons, group classes, recitals, and chamber music experiences, students learn to master this dynamic instrument while finding their unique voice as musicians.

Worried about your child starting on such a large instrument? Double basses come in a variety of sizes, from 1/16 to 4/4, making it possible for students as young as 10 to begin their journey on a 1/2 size bass. Our experienced instructors will help you find the perfect fit for your young musician, ensuring they play comfortably and with ease.

Learning to play the double bass opens a world of possibilities across all genres—whether your child dreams of performing in a classical orchestra, jazz band, or pop ensemble. At Gifted Music School, students don’t just learn to play the double bass—they gain the skills, passion, and community to shape their musical future.

We feel lucky to have found GMS two years ago. At first, our kids were just in the children's choir, but we later added voice, violin, and piano lessons. All the teachers are top notch!
