Biography

Kimberly earned a Bachelor of Music, piano performance emphasis, from the University of Utah, with Lenora Brown, Gladys Gladstone, and Rolf Mäser as her piano teachers. She received her Master of Music from Wichita State University, studying with Julie Bees. In her teenage years and as a college student, Kimberly performed as a pianist with chamber groups and as a soloist. More recently she has worked as a collaborative pianist with many musicians in the Salt Lake area. She also enjoyed composing music from a young age and has studied composition with renowned composers Bruce Reich, Joel Feigin, Rudolf Kelterborn, Morris Rosenzweig, and Walter Mays. Kimberly has also studied the art of teaching music to young children and has received training in Suzuki, Music Together, and Harmony Road. She often composes songs for children. Recently, as a teacher at a K-12 charter school, she has taught or co-taught middle and high school students in courses that include Piano Crash Course, Western Art Music History, AP Music Theory, and School of Rock. She serves on the board of the Bountiful Davis Art Center and is involved in promoting community experiences with art and music there. She lives with her husband, David, in Bountiful, Utah. They have two grown daughters.
