Position Overview

Gifted Music School is a highly respected pre-collegiate classical music school. Our mission is to nurture engaged, successful citizens by providing world-class music education to children of all backgrounds. We strive to set the national standard in our field. Headquartered in Salt Lake City UT, Gifted Music School operates with an annual budget of $1.2 million dollars and a staff and faculty of 55.
 
The Development Associate works with the ED to develop and execute a fundraising strategy commensurate with the aggressive growth from recent years. The Development Associate is tasked with cultivating existing relationships and generating new resources for the organization, through corporate partnerships, annual campaigns and strategic donor relationships.
 
The ideal candidate will help establish a cutting-edge development plan with innovative ideas that include short- and long-range fundraising goals directly targeting corporations, foundations and individuals.
 
 
   
Position Type: Full-Time (Benefited Staff)
Pay Range: $35,000 — $38,000
Location: Hybrid (remote and in-person)
   

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Donor Relations
    • Builds and ensures implementation of Corporate Giving Program.
    • Identifies opportunities to expose ED to high-net-worth donors.
    • Maintains files for corporate and strategic partners and updates relationship status.
    • Works with GMS team to ensure timely and appropriate acknowledgment of all donors through written thanks and donor recognition events and opportunities.
  2. Database Management
    • Ensure the maintenance of accurate and current records for all donors and prospects in donor database.
    • Analyzes data and past giving history to discover new development opportunities.
  3. Special Events
    • Supports events including landing corporate event sponsors, and moving sponsors to next levels over time.

 

 

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
  2. 2-3 years of fund development experience.
  3. Demonstrated ability to think strategically to develop innovative and aggressive fundraising methods.
  4. Strong verbal and written communications.
  5. Commitment to being a high-performance team player.
  6. Computer proficient in Microsoft Office and donor database management.
  7. Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
  8. Passion and belief in the power of music to change lives.
