The Preparatory Program offers One-on-One private lessons with top-level faculty. All faculty are remarkably accomplished and have received degrees from leading institutions.
Curriculum:
All students are initially evaluated, assigned a teacher, and placed into appropriate music grade levels.
All students are expected to practice, study, and progress at an appropriate pace.
Examination juries held by the GMSPD faculty are held every semester to monitor progress.
Performance opportunities, including a recital at the end of each semester, are held throughout the year for students who are ready.
Parents/guardians are expected to attend all private lessons and be involved in the music education of the child.
Limited scholarship assistance is offered to financially qualifying families as well to students who qualify for a merit based scholarship.
In addition to the regular curriculum, all school activities–including admission to masterclasses with leading professors and concert artists and concerts–are included as part of the tuition.
SUZUKI PROGRAM:
In addition to the points listed above, Suzuki students observe lessons prior to beginning their own individual study and participate in group classes each semester. Parents new to the Suzuki program attend a parent education seminar.
