Who We Are
 
 
{ The Gifted Music School, a part of the Salt Lake Music School Foundation, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, created to establish a premiere music school for children and reestablish the United States as a leader in serious music education. We accept all students who pass our admission requirements regardless of financial background.

Director Eugene Watanabe
A graduate of Curtis Institute of Music in both violin and piano, Mr. Watanabe is the only student to ever be awarded double degrees in violin and piano. Teachers have included Leon Fleisher, Claude Frank, Arnold Steinhardt, and Joseph Silverstein. He has performed worldwide on both instruments, appearing at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center and with major orhchestras including the Hamburg Symphony, Moscow State Symphony Orhcestra, Calgary Philharmonic, Czechoslovakian Martinu Chamber Orhcestra and New York String Orchestra. Major awards include second prize at the Calgary Honens international piano competition.
